By attending this workshop, you will acquire the core values and principles of trauma-informed supervision and the requisite knowledge and skill base for supervising trauma informed, therapeutic residential care.
This workshop is informed by current research, equips supervisors to provide trauma-informed supervision to meet the needs of therapeutic residential workers the complex array of challenges posed by young people living in residential care.
By participating in this workshop, participants will:
- Recognise the values and principles of trauma informed supervision and how it differs from classic models of supervision
- Explore the skills needed to become a trauma informed supervisor
- Apply trauma informed principles to the supervision session
Presenter: This training is presented by Noel MacNamara, Deputy Director for the Centre for Excellence in Therapeutic Care. Noel Macnamara is a social worker with over 35 years of experience as a clinician, supervisor and executive with a wide range of services with children adolescents and families.
