Masha Mikola

Senior Research and Project Officer

Masha is the Senior Research and Project Officer, supporting CETC projects by collating research evidence and elements of best practice in out-of-home care, youth justice and broader trauma-informed care practice space.

Masha is particularly interested in links between policy, practice and evidence creation. She is focused on finding solutions to breaking down systemic barriers that prevent children and young people from having more positive, nurturing and healing experiences.

Masha has extensive experience in research, policy and teaching roles across academic and not for profit sectors. She has previously worked in projects focusing on migrant and refugee young people, experiences and implications of racism and discrimination, sense of belonging and place-making and social determinants of health. Masha holds a Master of social work and a PhD in Intercultural studies.

Masha lives on Boonwurrung/Bunurong country, and she enjoys exploring its flora, fauna and its endless quirks with her two children.
