Intensive Therapeutic Transitional Care Community of Practice

What is the ITTC Community of Practice?
The purpose of this Community of Practice is to provide a space for ITTC staff from across the state to exchange ideas, practice, knowledge and solutions.
Intensive Therapeutic Transition Care (ITTC) is an integrated but distinct part of the of the Intensive Therapeutic system in NSW. ITTC are staffed by multidisciplinary teams of allied health professionals and specially trained residential staff within an intensive time-limited context. Providing assessments and evidence- based interventions and therapeutic care for children and young people who present with multiple, interrelate complex needs to help their transition to more permanency, less intensive living arrangements. Additionally, closely working with internal and external agencies to both educate and support appropriate therapeutic interventions for children and young people transitioning out of the ITTC service. This is challenging and complex work and it is widely acknowledged that critical reflective thinking is an essential element in the provision of high-quality trauma informed practice.

Target Audience

The ITTC Community of Practice is relevant for all practitioners working as part of an ITTC team including: House Supervisor/Managers, Therapeutic Specialists, residential workers and members of the multidisciplinary care teams (including but not limited to play therapists, counsellors, psychiatrists, education specialists).
